Paul’s Run was incorporated by Lutheran Retirement Homes, Inc. The mission was to provide, at the lowest feasible cost, living accommodations, medical services and health care, with hospitalization as needed, all on a lifetime basis.
Paul’s Run Retirement Community opened the doors to its first building, the Alpha (A) Building, on May 4, 1981. In June of that same year came the Beta (B) Building, and in November, Halle Health Center. The C and D buildings were to follow in later years.
The first decade of Paul’s Run history was marked by changes and re-organizational structuring as the community grew. In 1993, plans for renovations were first proposed, and in 1995 a five year renovation plan was drafted. These renovations included the creation of a Personal Care Unit on the 3rd and 4th floors of B Building with dining and activity areas and the relocation of the Medical Suite to the 1st floor of D Building. A resident service beauty salon, bank, general store and library were also built. Additional construction included that of a Physical Therapy Department, Classroom, Hobby Room, new office areas, employee cafeteria, service hallway, carport columns, additional parking, new lounge, auditorium, chapel, exercise room and greenhouse. All of these major changes were complete by the year 2000, making Paul’s Run the vital, active community it is today!
In 2001, Paul’s Run became affiliated with Liberty Lutheran Services. Two years later, in 2003, a Nursing Home Designated Rehab Unit was created, as well as a Wellness Program. Paul’s Run also introduced computer classes to residents.
In 2006, the front desk lobby was renovated to be more spacious and open. Liberty at Home joined the Paul’s Run community with an office on the first floor. During 2007 and early in 2008, the Rehab Unity and office area on the second floor were expanded. In late 2008, the Liberty Grille was opened and provided more diverse and exciting menu options for the residents of Paul’s Run.
Today, Paul’s Run is a bustling and busy community, rich in history despite its relatively short tenure of operation. Residents of Paul’s Run Live Life to the Fullest everyday!
